Recently we’ve seen a growing pool of research linking gum disease and Alzheimer’s disease. A recent article is particularly interesting because they used both human and mouse models to show oral bacteria in the brains of those with Alzheimer’s disease.

If you are interested in the subject of preventing Alzheimer’s Disease I would suggest you read the book, ‘The End of Alzheimer’s, by Dr. Dale Bredesen. I’ve read the book a couple of times and implemented a few the simple lifestyle changes in the reCODE protocol. Like they say, ‘an ounce of prevention’. Flossing, as Dr. Bredesen suggests, is a pretty simple strategy to reduce the types of bacteria that have been linked to Alzheimer’s Disease.
